About Draconis Festival
Draconis Festival is the biggest role-playing game event of Quebec. It offers more than a hundred role-playing game sessions for beginners or advanced players. Offered games go from classics like Dungeons & Dragons and Call of Cthulhu to the latest independent local role-playing game. The festival is held two times a year. Online on Discord in Winter and in person at the CÉGEP du Vieux-Montréal in Fall. In any case, the event is totally free and open to all the diversity.
The organization team is made entirely of volunteers and the role-playing games are offered by members of our excellent community.
Programming
Game Submission
The biggest factor in the success of the festival since it launched in 2017 is, of course, the quality and variety of the scenarios. We’ve had a huge number of different systems, even some still in development by local creators, and we hope to see the same this time!
Submission period is over. We have more than 108 scenarios using 79 different systems, and a potential of 150 game sessions! We can only thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your constant support! A festival like ours lives and dies by its programming, so we can clearly see that the RPG community in Québec is alive and well!
HorrorFest
To celebrate the festival opening on a Friday the 13th, that day will be mainly dedicated to horror scenarios of all types. Note, that not all scenarios on Friday will be horror, and not all horror scenarios will be on Friday. If you’re not a horror fan, or you can’t come Friday, we’ve still got you covered!
Game Registration
Registration to games starts about a month before the beginning of the festival. Visit our Warhorn event page to reserve your seats!
To create the game schedule and manage registration, we use the Warhorn website. If you are not familiar with the platform, consult our Warhorn user guide.
Draconis Jam
While waiting for the festival to begin, we are organising a role-playing game creation jam. All details are on the jam’s itch.io page!
Sponsors
The Draconis festival is also an opportunity to discover role-playing game authors, artists and artisans working in the industry, as well as role-playing game communities, media and events. You’ll have the opportunity to visit their kiosks in the marketplace. They’ll be featured here as well.
