Our support from Montréal Joue depends in large part on the number of participants that Draconis draws. Therefore, we need to track how many people come to the festival each day and how many unique visitors we get over the course of the weekend. This data will also help us to plan the distribution of games in the schedule next year.
To make this work, we ask that you present yourself at our reception desk upon arrival each day. You will be asked four questions: 1) Is this your first time at the festival?; 2) Is this your first visit this year?; 3) Did you register online?; and 4) What gender do you identify as? The last question is just to gauge the diversity in our clientele. We won’t ask any questions that could identify you, such as your name, phone number, e-mail address, etc…
To help you find a game that can accept more players, a cone will be put on each table, under the responsibility of the game master. If the cone is present, this means at least one seat is still available. If the table is full, the GM must put it aside.
Prepayed Hot Beverages
To minimize change, we will be using a punch card system letting you buy a bunch of hot drinks at a time. For example, you can buy 5 drinks and you will receive a punch card that we will punch every time you get a drink. Since there are no savings, you are free to share this card with other people.
At the end of the festival, if you still have unused drinks on your card, come to the reception and we will refund them to you.
As in the past years, we will host two different raffles during the festival, one on Saturday at 6:00 PM, and the other on Sunday at 2:00 PM. To make sure it goes quicker than last year, only the people present at those moments will receive a ticket.
When the time comes, we will all gather in the merchants room, everyone will receive a ticket, and we will proceed with the raffle. We have promotional material from Black Book, the stuff we weren’t able to give last year (including an RPG book called Les Mousquetaires de l’Ombre), some Lovecraftian dice sets by Infinite Black, some 3D creations from Hero Creations, and on Sunday, many unsold objects from the garage sale. Don’t miss it!
Like last year, there will be a donation box at the reception desk for those who would like to help the festival out financially. Although Montréal Joue provides the space to us for free, there are still costs associated with our website, consumable materials, publicity, etc… 100% of your donations go towards the festival’s operations and any surplus will be carried forward to finance our 2021 event.
Thank you in advance!
